Traffic and acquisition
Before you can grow traffic, you need to know where it already comes from. CIQRA’s Traffic sources reporting answers exactly that — which channels bring visitors to your store — as part of the eleven first-party report families, measured by your own store and privacy- and consent-aware.
What it answers
Section titled “What it answers”Acquisition reporting groups your visitors by where they came from, so you can see which channels are doing the work of bringing people in. Broadly, traffic tends to fall into channels such as:
- Direct — people who arrived by typing your address or using a bookmark.
- Organic search — visitors who found you through a search engine.
- Referral — clicks from links on other websites.
- Social — visits from social platforms.
- Paid — traffic from campaigns you’re spending on.
Seeing volume side by side across these channels tells you where your audience is really coming from — and where a channel is quietly over- or under-performing.
Traffic vs. attribution
Section titled “Traffic vs. attribution”It helps to keep two questions separate:
- Traffic sources answers where visitors come from — the top of the funnel, counting the people arriving.
- Attribution answers which channels deserve credit for orders and revenue — the bottom of the funnel, connecting sources to sales.
A channel can send lots of traffic but few buyers, or a little traffic that converts brilliantly. Reading both together stops you from judging a channel on visits alone.
How to use it
Section titled “How to use it”- Double down on what brings people in. The channels sending the most (and the most engaged) visitors are the ones worth investing in.
- Diagnose a dip. A sudden fall in one channel — organic, say — is a signal to look at what changed there.
- Balance your mix. Over-reliance on a single source is a risk; acquisition reporting makes that dependency visible.
A note on first-party measurement
Section titled “A note on first-party measurement”Because CIQRA analytics is first-party and consent-aware, these counts reflect what your own store observed with consent granted. That’s why they can differ from a third-party analytics tool — see Understand your analytics for how first-party measurement works, and Every report, at a glance for the full set of reports.
