Attribution and abandoned carts

Two of CIQRA’s report families are about the money end of the journey: Attribution, which credits the channels behind your orders, and Abandoned carts, which surfaces the sales that almost happened. Both are first-party — measured by your own store, and privacy- and consent-aware.

Attribution answers: which channels actually drove my orders and revenue? Where Traffic and acquisition counts the visitors a channel brings in, attribution connects those channels to real sales — so you can tell a source that merely sends browsers from one that sends buyers.

That distinction is what makes attribution the report to reach for at budget time:

  • Credit the channels that earn. See which sources sit behind your revenue, not just your traffic.
  • Reallocate with evidence. Shift spend toward channels that convert, away from ones that only look busy.
  • Understand the full picture. Shoppers often touch more than one channel before they buy; attribution is about assigning credit for the orders that result.

Because attribution here is first-party and consent-aware, its credit reflects what your own store measured with consent granted. That’s one reason a platform’s own dashboard can report different numbers — each tool counts with its own method and window.

Abandoned carts surfaces the sales that came this close: carts that shoppers started but didn’t complete. Every abandoned cart is a shopper who wanted to buy and stopped — the warmest audience you have.

Used well, the report helps you:

  • Size the opportunity. Understand how much potential revenue is sitting in unfinished carts.
  • Spot friction. A high abandonment rate points back at the checkout — unexpected shipping costs, a forced account, or too few payment options.
  • Prioritise recovery. The carts closest to completion are the ones worth winning back.

Abandoned carts pairs naturally with the Funnel: the funnel shows where shoppers leave the path to purchase, and abandoned carts is the detailed view of the ones who got all the way to a cart before dropping.

Read as a pair, these reports cover both sides of your revenue. Attribution tells you where the sales you won came from; Abandoned carts tells you which near-sales you could still win. For how every report connects, see Every report, at a glance.
